Animal figures have been used as elements of ornamentation in art all throughout history. The Ceylanli Flask was inspired by a 16th-century Iznik flask dated to the years 1545-1555, in which animals of the hunt are depicted in an intense but scattered style of ornamentation.

The Ceylanli Flask is of hand-made glass and all its patterns of relief have also been produced by hand and plated in 24-carat gold.
