The Hagia Sophia Mosaic Vase represents the mosaic found in the Hagia Sophia apse, depicting the Virgin Mary sitting on a throne with the baby Jesus in her lap.

Acoording to the latest research, its date of probable origin is thougth to be the era of the Byzantine Empress Eirene, between 787 and 815. the mosaic was retrieved intact after the devastating earthquake that occurred in the mid 14th century.

The Hagia Sophia Mosaic Vase is of hand made glass and its decorative reliefs have also been produced by hand, plated with 24 carat gold, each mosaic piece painted with a special glass paint.

Ayasofya Mozaik Vazo uzerinde, Ayasofya' da apsiste bulunan ve tahtta kucaginda cocuk Isa ile oturmakta olan Meryem Ana Mozaigi resmedilmistir.

Son yillarda arastirmalarda bu mozaigin 787 ile 815 yillari arasinda Bizans Imparatoricesi Eirene doneminde yapilmis olabilecegi sonucunda varilmistir. 800 yili civarina tarihlendirilen bu mozaik 14. yuzyilin ortalarinda meydana gelen depremdeki yikimdan sonra saglam olarak ortaya cikarilmistir.

Ayasofya Mozaik Vazo, el imalati camdan uretilmis olup uzerindeki rolyef desenlerin tumu el isciligi ile 24 ayar altin yaldiz kaplanarak, mozaik parcalarinin her birinin tek tek ozel cam boyasi ile boyanmasiyla gerceklestirilmistir.
