The design on the Ovgulu Candlestick were ispired by the patterns the patterns on the original of an antique glass candlestick, dated to around the end of the 13th century and beginning of the 14th century and exhibited today at New York Corning Museum of Glass.
The inscription on the body of the candlestick contaims words of praise for the Shah or Sultan: Al Alim(Wise), Al Adil(Just), Al Mucahid(Warrior), Al Murabit(Strong, Secure), Al Musagir(Protector), Al Mueyyed(Supperted, Al Muzaffer(Victor), Al Mensur(The Successful), Al Melik(Property-Owner), Al Kaim(Performer of A Duty)...
The neck and base of the candlestick of praise have been decorated with rumi and leaf motifs. The geometrical patterns on the body symbolize infinity and have been adorned with green, blue and red enamel. The Ovgulu Candlestick is hand made and all its patterns of relief have also been produced by hand, using a relief painting technique and 24 carat gold plating.

Ovgulu Mumluk uzerindeki desenler, 13 yy sonu ve 14. yy basina tarihlenen ve orijinali New York Corning Cam Muzesi'nde sergilenen antik cam mumluk uzerindeki desenlerden esinlenilerek yapilmistir. Ovgulu mumlugun boyun ve taban kismi; rumi ve yaprak motifleri ile, govde kismi ise: sonsuzlugu simgeleyen geometrik desenler yesil, mavi ve kirmizi renkli minelerle bezenmistir.
Mumluk govdesindeki (Sah'a veya Padisah'a atfedilen) yazida; El Alim(Bilgili), El Adil(Adaletli, El Mucahid(Mucadeleci), El Murabit(Saglam,Sarsilmaz), El Musagir(Koruyucu), El Mueyyed(Destekleyen), El Muzaffer(Zafer Kazanmis), El Mensur(Cok Basarili), El Melik(Mulkun Sahibi), El Kaim(Vazife Yapan) gibi ovgu sozcukleri yer almaktadir.
Ovgulu Mumluk, el imalati camdan uretilmis olup uzerindeki kabartmali boya teknigi ile olusturulan rolyef desenlerin tumu el isciligi ile 24 ayar altin yaldiz kaplanarak gerceklestirilmistir. |
