Description   The Nahil vase is inspired from the shape and design of nahil represented in a banquet scene in an Ottoman miniature. Nahil is a word of Arabic origin meaning date-palm. It was a tree made of wax, used to be carried at the head of a bridal procession or of the procession of circumcision. Nahil that had the symbolic significance of abundance, having a long history dating to thousand of years back, was an integral part of the Ottoman feasts. The hand made Nahil vase is of red glass. Hand designed motifs are manually wrought in 24 carat gold covering.
